Employee turnover calculator
Calculate the turnover rate for a period from your separations and headcount.
How is employee turnover calculated?
The most common formula divides separations in the period by the average headcount ((start + end) ÷ 2) and multiplies by 100.
Example: 18 separations ÷ ((200 + 210) ÷ 2) × 100 = 8.78%. Split voluntary from involuntary turnover and track the first 90 days, which often reveals hiring or onboarding issues.
How to reduce turnover
Check when people leave: early exits point to hiring and onboarding; later exits to pay, leadership and culture.
In Alobri, the ATS, psychometric tests, onboarding and engagement surveys share one dataset, and People Analytics alerts you by area.
